Is this a political or religious organization?
No. SOAC is a non-partisan, community-centered movement. Our focus is strictly on connection, professional and personal empowerment, and cultural respect.
Do I have to pay to be a member?
We believe everyone should have a place to Belong. Our Community Access tier is free and provides access to our digital community and invitations to open events. For those looking to deepen their connection or lead, we offer paid supporter tiers starting at $15/month.
Can I change my membership tier later?
Absolutely. Our "Supporter Ladder" is designed to grow with you. You can move from Connect ($15) to Lead ($30) or Influence ($75) at any time through your member portal.
What is the difference between a Supporter and a Sponsor?
A Supporter focuses on personal connection and event participation. A Sponsor (Education or Impact level) takes on a leadership role, gaining opportunities to speak at events, vote on community initiatives, and gain higher visibility within the network.
What kind of events does the Pittsburgh Chapter host?
We host a variety of gatherings, including monthly social mixers, quarterly "Dinner Dialogues" focused on cultural education, professional panels, and an annual retreat for deep connection and strategic planning.
Do I have to be a member to attend events?
Most of our events are open to the public, but SOAC members receive priority registration and significant discounts on ticket prices. Some intimate "Dialogue" events may be reserved for paid tiers only.
